This workshop will cover effective intervention strategies using the Orton-Gillingham approach forthose living with a reading and/or language disability.

This FREE event is intended for parents and caregivers of children with Learning Disabilities. The focus is providing parents with tools and strategies to aid them in supporting their children. This event will host two key note speakers and a variety of field professionals throughout the day. You will have the opportunity to gain new skills and network with other families.

This presentation will focus on how to become a proactive advocate for your child on the school system. Developing a good IEP is an essential part of advocating for your child in the school system. Tips on how to accomplish this will be discussed. A students’ rights around full day school attendance, suspensions and field trips will also be covered.

This experiential workshop is designed to give participants an understanding of the challenges of having LDs through engaging in a series of activities. Participants will gain knowledge about current thinking in the field of LDs and a practical understanding of how they may affect mental health and everyday life at home and at school.
